Get ready for THRILLS & SPILLS, ADVENTURE & AMAZEMENT! Today I am launching my blog, lovingly entitled CIRQUE DU SLAPE. This is simply a peek into our little "3 RING CIRCUS" we call family. Thank you for coming along.
The last time I attended a circus was August, 2005. Cary, Abigail, Ethan & I joined the Lil' Slapes & the Hiles under the Big Top. What an adventure! What I remember the most was that there were SO many things going on at once. That 3 Ring Circus was particularly exciting because there was constant activity, and there were surprises left and right. At the end of the evening, we were all left in awe, a little over-stimulated, and ready for bed! Can you see where I am headed with this?
As I reflect on our family of 5 (and soon to be 6), the connection that we have to the 3 Ring Circus is so clear. The constant activity, surprises, and exhaustion are all part of everyday. However, just like the circus, the activities that take place are orchestrated, timed, and most of all, FUN! My goal is to NOT have a constant whirlwind of random activity under our Big Top, but to rein in the chaos and turn it into something worthwhile each and every day.
Of course, as with every circus performance, mistakes are made, popcorn is spilled, and someone will always get a tummy-ache (from too much cotton candy Ü). But is it worth the price of admission? ABSOLUTELY!!! I wouldn't trade our Family Circus for ANYTHING in the world! It is the Greatest Show On Earth!
